It's all about the connection. Our gateways consistently deliver the best connection rates in the industry because we leverage an extremely low noise, high linearity ADSL Analog Front End (AFE) and digital echo canceller to provide excellent long loop and bridge tap performance.

Translation: fewer technician visits and better modem training capability, particularly for those customers at the edge of the DSL coverage area.

2Wire goes beyond current ADSL standards by utilizing impulse noise compensation and non-linear echo compensation to increase reliability and performance in actual ADSL user environments. We test our 2Wire gateways for conflicts with real-world items such as dimmer switches, fluorescent lighting, AM radio, unfiltered devices connected to the ADSL line (alarm systems, water meters, and half ringers), and poor wiring. This extra step ensures a better experience for users once the gateway's actually in the home; that means fewer truck rolls and shorter troubleshooting calls.

Eliminate Cold Spots with HyperG® Technology

2Wire HyperG high-powered wireless technology virtually eliminates wireless 'coldspots' in the home. HomePortal residential gateways provide up to seven times the true power of traditional access points and increase wireless bandwidth by using high power 400mW transmitters. (Most wireless access points provide less than 100mW.)

Best of all, HyperG technology uses a standards-based, interoperable design. That means even the performance of subscribers' existing wireless 802.11b and 802.11g adapters will improve with a HyperG-enabled HomePortal residential gateway.

The 2Wire unique triple wireless antenna design extends wireless reach and boosts performance compared to typical 802.11 wireless designs, which have only two antennas. 2Wire gateways have a third antenna used only for transmitting packets. The extra antenna enables 2Wire wireless gateways to avoid the power loss associated with switching antenna modes back and forth from transmit to receive.

Antenna placement is optimized with a dedicated set of receive-only antennas, resulting in greater access point sensitivity and increased wireless throughput and range. Better range throughout the home means better delivery of enhanced services, like VoIP and VOD.

Within minutes of unpacking the shipping box, our Greenlight™ CD-less process ensures subscribers access the Internet, immediately eliminating installation headaches. With Greenlight, no install CDs are required, no long meaningless numbers to find and type in, no username and password to recall. Just add power to the gateway and the green LEDs will light up within fifteen minutes. Beyond simple Web surfing, our provisioning mechanisms also allow service providers to easily add new services such as VoIP and QoS parameters in support of IPTV.
